Sessions

Individual counselling sessions are 50 minutes unless otherwise agreed. Couple sessions usually last 75 or 90 minutes. Sessions can be arranged via email or WhatsApp after our initial meeting. â€‹I ask that you kindly cancel 24 hours beforehand if you are unable to attend a session.

Location: online, in central Montpellier or under the trees

I am able to meet with clients either via a secure platform (Doxy) online or in the cosy, mezzanine office at Joy Yoga, around 6 minutes walk from la Comédie (Trams 1 or 2) and close to Trams 3 & 4. Parking is also available close by at Place de la Comédie.

On agreement, and weather-permitting, we may also meet out in nature, in a secluded green space that allows us privacy, whilst enjoying being under the trees. The park is also a short (approx. 10 minute) tram ride from the city centre.

Languages

Counselling sessions can take place in either English or French. I am an English native speaker married to a French husband and have lived, studied and worked in France and French-speaking Switzerland for many years. I am happy to switch between and mix languages in couple therapy so that you can speak your preferred language as much as possible. However, please note that it is usually important that you are both able to understand each other.

Fees

Please reach out for details of my fees. I offer a 20 minute call free of charge to see if we are a good fit before we decide to work together. If you cannot access counselling due to financial reasons, I occasionally operate with a sliding scale and this is something that we could discuss to find a fee that works for both of us.

Payment is possible via bank transfer or by credit card if preferred.

Insurance

Mental health professionals are closely regulated in France (where I am based) and Switzerland (where I carried out my training). Despite my training and qualification and recognition by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), Swiss Counseling Association and American Counseling Association, I cannot be recognised as a "psychotherapist" in these countries and this may affect reimbursement from insurance companies.

Equally, some insurers have provided reimbursements for counselling. Due to the wide range of insurance companies and policies, I cannot advise on this matter. If this is of concern to you, please contact your insurance company directly to see what is possible and let me know if you need my support with this.
